Freedom Adventures Announces
14th In-House Training
Every season ends with a story, but for us, it ends with a lesson. Between the busy trails of Autumn and the first flowers of Spring, there is a quiet window of time where we step back to look at our work. We don't believe in standing still. We believe that to guide well, one must never stop being a student of the mountains
From January 21 to 23, 2026, our entire team of 51 guides and 11 office staff, 62 people who are the heartbeat of this company will gather in Sarangkot, Pokhara. This marks our 14th In-House Training.
Learning in Motion
Each year, we listen to the mountains, our teams, and our travelers to shape a training that meets the evolving call of the wilderness. While our core commitment to safety, sustainability, and service remains our compass, the how of our learning evolves.
Our 14th session is built on the principle of immersive, practical application. The classroom extends to the trail itself. We are focusing on the nuanced competencies that transform a good guide into an exceptional one.
Stewardship as Leadership
This year, the hike is our laboratory. As we traverse the ridgelines of Sarangkot, our focus remains on the "Leadership of the Small Things." We will be strictly adhering to Leave No Trace (LNT) principles while conducting a comprehensive Trail Clean-Up. To us, there is no higher form of leadership than stewardship. By cleaning the trails we walk, we remind ourselves that we are guests of nature, and our presence should only ever be a positive one.
A Legacy of Constant Evolution
Looking back to our first session in 2017 in Kakani, the journey of Freedom Adventure has been one of continuous refinement. We have covered themes from high-altitude medicine to inclusive group dynamics and ethical photography. What has changed over these 14 years is our depth. We no longer just teach skills; we cultivate a mindset. We have grown into a collective of 57 professionals who believe that being "good enough" is never the goal. We thrive because we refuse to stand still.
A Note from the Founder, Jagan Timilsina
“When I look at this team, I don’t just see employees; I see the keepers of a vision. This 14th training is a return to our roots: the dirt, the wind, and the practical reality of the mountains. We are here to ensure that our wisdom is not just in our heads, but in our hands and our hearts. True leadership is not found in a title, but in the quiet confidence of a guide who knows exactly what to do when the weather turns or when a guest loses heart. We do this work now, in the quiet of January, so that when Spring arrives, we can serve with a grace that is both legendary and grounded.”
Closing Remarks from the General Manager
"The Autumn season is behind us, and while it was a success, the Spring season demands more. We are buckling up. We are gearing up. We are using these three days in Sarangkot to ensure that when we hit the trails in March, there is no guesswork. We thrive because we perform, and we perform because we refuse to repeat the same mistakes. Let’s get to work."
“Performance is the only thing that matters at Freedom Adventure.”
