Itinerary

Upon your arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, Freedom Adventures’ representative will greet you. You will be dropped  off at the hotel, and after checking in, you could walk around Thamel, a popular tourist hub in Kathmandu. Observing the market and some souvenir shopping will freshen your mind. Dinner at an excellent restaurant will give you a taste of Nepali cuisine. Your trek guide will brief you about the trip and the next day’s sightseeing trip. Overnight at Kathmandu.

After a lovely breakfast in the morning, we start guided sightseeing tour to some most historical and spiritual attraction in Kathmandu. We will be visiting some landmarks which are considered as World Heritage Sites. This Sightseeing will be fully informative and historical. We start our day from Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu temples, followed by Bouddanath, the ancient Buddhist Stupa is one of the largest in the world. Following our day to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, is the plaza in front of the royal place of old Bhaktapur. In the afternoon we visit Kathmandu Durbar Square and explore the old royal place complex which was built on the 14th century. After we finish sightseeing we follow the local market called Ason, crossing the busy local area we reach our hotel at Thamel. Overnight at Kathmandu.

After breakfast in the morning, we drive along the north-western hills of Kathmandu. Enjoy the Himalayan views and mountainous lifestyle through the terraced fields and rustic villages. Take Lunch at the Trishuli Bazar before continuing further to Dhunche. From Dhunche, we descend down to Syabrubesi. Overnight at Syabrubesi.

We start trekking today from Syabru besi to Gatlang. Climb straight up from Syabrubesi until you arrive on the summit Deurali. The trail goes easy flat from Deurali you have to walk along the rough road, it is very beautiful and interesting walk. The Langtang mountain range is right back side and Tibetan mountains are ahead. Typical Tamang settlement are scattered along. Overnight at Gatlang.

We start our trek with a descent to Thangbuchet. Enjoy the magnificent views of the Ganesh Himal and Langtang Ranges. Passing by the Chilime Hydropower dam, we ascend the trail until we reach Tatopani. Tatopani literally means ‘hot water’ in Nepali owing to the natural hot springs there. Take a dip into the natural hot water to relax your tired muscles. Overnight at Tatopani.

The trail ascends to Nagthali Danda (3300m) the high open grassland with amazing views of snow covered Himalayas. Stop for lunch at Brimdang village. After lunch the trek continues ascending to Nagthali Danda. Passing through the dense alpine forest, we reach the small Tamang settlement of Brimdang. Then a few hours walk uphill, we arrive at Nagthali hill. Enjoy the mesmerizing views of Langtang, Sanjen, Kerung, Ganesh Himal ranges. Trek downhill to the Tamang village of Thuman. Overnight at Thuman.

Today is very challenging trail mostly up and down, the trail goes steeply down until we reach the river, followed by an uphill climb. The region is predominantly Tamang, where the culture and tradition is very similar to Tibitan Buddism. However, it is very close to Bonpo Buddhism in some parts. From Pelko it is more comfortable way to Bridim (a fertile) village. Overnight at Briddim.

Briddim to Lamahotel (6 hrs) walking in heavy pine forest will take an hour to arrive in Khamjing village. Still the trail goes through the terraced field where local people cultivate mostly potatoes, barley and wheat. This trail was a classic trail for Langtang valley people in the former time. This is very interesting trail, today you will see Lauribinayak pass onwards to Gosaikund and glacier valley Langtang and Mt. Langtang Lirung. Long ziczag flat trail crosses Sherpa Gaun, Rimche and finally come to meet the usual Langtang trail at Lamahotel. Overnight at Lama Hotel.

After taking morning tea, we embark our second day of the journey. Our trail continues along dense forests. After making a steady climb up through the valley, we leave the tree line behind us. Enjoy the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung. Pass by water mills, prayer wheels, chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them. Overnight at Langtang Village.

After taking morning tea and breakfast, we get out of the village and pass on through yak pastures. Also pass the largest mani wall in Nepal, made from stone with prayers written on them. The prayers written on the mani wall is supposed to be blown away by the wind. Cross several of the wooden bridges. Kyanjin Gompa is surrounded by the Himalayas all around. You can take a walk around Kyanjin Gompa enjoying the views, glaciers, icefalls, birds and yaks. Overnight at Kyanjin Gompa.

After your breakfast, we will start our day trip to Kyanjin Ri, passing through village and pass on through yak pastures. Trek back to Kyanjing Gompa. Overnight at Kyanjing Gompa.

Today, we get back to Lama Hotel. Since, its mostly downhill, it is 4 hours walk from Kanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel. The trail goes all the way downhill through forest following the river. Pass through the ethnic settlements of the Tamang people who follow religious and cultural practices similar to the Tibetans. Overnight at Lama Hotel.

Today would be the last day of trekking. After breakfast, we trek down to Syabrubesi. Enjoy the easy trail mostly downhill through lush green vegetation. Arriving Syabrubesi, we take our lunch. Overnight at Syabrubesi.

After morning breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu. You can spend some leisure time reflecting on the trek and doing last-minute shopping in Thamel. We meet up for dinner in the evening and celebrate successful completion of our trek. Overnight in Kathmandu.

An amazing trip to the Himalayas concludes on this day. Freedom Adventures’ staff will drop you off at the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. Have a safe flight back!
