Without a doubt freedom adventures is the best place in Pokhara to arrange tours and trekking! the staff there were some of the most wonderful, kind and helpful people I met on my whole travels. They showed a really keen interest in my safety and welfare at all times and I really felt like they cared about whether I got the best service and that my needs were provided for. I was a solo female traveller, and I really felt that they looked after me. Ajay and Arun are some of the wisest, open-hearted and genuine people I have ever met in my life, and I felt like just walking into their office and talking to them I got an education about life! they are so positive and funny too, they are sure to put a smile on your face. I also found myself coming back to see them as often as I could, their vibe is amazing and I loved having deep conversations with them (in the small moments they are not busy with customers!), Nobody knows trekking in Nepal better than these guys, you’ll be sure to have top class professional advice from them and be sure that you are in safe hands. I did the Annapurna route for the trek, and although I was really nervous about it, (because I’m not very athletic) they put me at ease about everything! the trek itself was seriously high quality and worth every penny. My guide Bikash was excellent and really looked after me, it was one of the best experiences in my life! put your trust in this company for a eye-opening, jaw-dropping, and heart warming experience tailored for you <3

Tashi Delek. Had a great time on the trek and am proud to have made it around the circuit. I thought everything went pretty well. It was a most enjoyable trip which will stay with me forever, especially the two moonlight walks I did with Big Hari and Purna. The mountains those mornings were so beautiful. Will recommend Freedom Adventure Treks to any-one.

This being my first solo trip all of a sudden without planning , I thought I’d be roaming around Nepal like a lost puppy. But on the contrary, it just felt like a perfectly planned trek once after meeting them. The Freedom Explorers..there can’t be any other apt name for this bunch of supercool people that im grateful to have met and all thanks to them for not making me the “lost puppy”..Jagan sir, Ajay sir and their entire crew.. if not for them I wouldn’t have fallen in love with this place as I’ve now.. Ever heard about the Red Everest and night glowing Everest ? Me too.. I haven’t heard about it until they told me about it.. Magical sight that can be seen just in a particular time in certain conditions.. I’ve always heard what calm minds can do to us..But I’ve felt it for the first time..

I participated in the Stupa Trail Cup race in Pokhara. What a great trail, this was organized by Trail Running community of Pokhara and Freedom Adventure Treks .There was a fun run and a 5km trail and a 12 km away. The aim of the organization was to introduce young children to this wonderful sport and a longer distance for the more experienced trail runners. It was a great day for all the runners along the mountain up to the stupa and from the other side back to the finish. It was a beautiful route who was deported excellent with ribbons and had everything one could wish as a TrailRunner! The children enjoyed a lot and sang merrily after the awards ceremony and dancing.A very successful 1st version of this trail and I hope he will be organized again next year!I’ve enjoyed plenty of it anyway! Thanks again to the staff! Freedom Adventures and all the other volunteers who were more than adequate to help the runners. Joop Terwiel and Nellie Terwiel.Netherlands

Great knowledge of the mountains and super personalities
by Winston Luke and Nichola Kaskow | United Kingdom | 2017
We were introduced to Jagan and the team through a friend in the UK and we were very grateful to have such a amazing team looking after us.
Greeted by Ajay upon arrival in Kathmandu, we were well looked after from the start. He was incredibly friendly and helpful right up to when we left for our trek. Arun greeted us upon our return and made sure we were all set for sightseeing in Kathmandu. We were also joined by a local guide for a day going around the sites in the city who was knowledgeable and friendly. Our guide and porter, Nurbu and Lakpa, made the trip what it was – they were fun and friendly, and spent the evenings on the hike with us chatting around the stove in the teahouses and playing pool in Namche. We ended up treating them as good friends rather than our guide and porter! Even though one of us, unfortunately, got AMS, they still managed to accommodate both of us to do separate itineraries – one of us had to go down whilst the other carried on to EBC, but both of us still had a great time and found other walks to fill the days not going up to EBC, making the most of the trip. Overall, everything was well organized and we were looked after at all times. Nurbu and Lakpa had great knowledge of the mountains and super personalities, which made it all the more fun to be around for the trek. We wholeheartedly recommend these guys if you’re looking for a fun, memorable trip through the Himalayas.

Awesome, professional, safety conscious - the best adventure guides in Nepal !!
by Lucy Dean | Switzerland | 2017
We just did a trek to Tilicho lake at 4900 meters, guided by Freedom Adventures. Throughout the whole experience with Freedom Adventures, we felt fully prepared and relaxed about the trek. They briefed us so well, super professional, friendly and made sure that all safety aspects were covered so that we could just relax and enjoy the experience. They have an intimate knowledge of the routes, the weather and conditions which just gives you the edge when setting out. They are literally available 24/7 which meant we could get feedback and advice at any time before arriving. Superb! I’m just desperate to get back to Nepal and do another trek with Freedom!!

We booked one guide, Durga, who was absolutely great, keeping spirits high with his beautiful singing voice, as we sweated through the jungle, battling the famous “Nepali Flat”. We lucked out as we also had guide-in-training, Nirmal with us who was such a valued addition to our trekking party. We were gutted to have to say goodbye at the end of our journey. The trek was such a memorable experience, made so great due to the wonderful staff at Freedom. We returned a few days later and booked paragliding through them too, again, a brilliant experience.I can’t recommend Freedom Adventures enough, the team are professional, caring and fun, they’re passionate about what they do and it shows.

In December 2016, my partner and I completed the Annapurna Circuit through a booking with Freedom Adventures. While it has been many months since our initial trek, I am writing this review now as our time in Nepal has almost come to an end and that I share with the rest of the world how coming across this company was in, a lot of ways, a highlight of our time in Nepal. Upon planning for our first trek in the Himalayas, we were both nervous and excited to embark into the unknown. Due to the unpredictable weather conditions in December (it had not yet snowed), we especially worried about our safety as we had never done intensive trekking like this before. Enter Arun at Freedom Adventures – he was professional, kind, genuine and most of all NOT pushy as most sales people are when commission is on the line. He set us up with a wonderful guide and we had an incredibly safe and enjoyable experience trekking for 19 days. Funny note: even as we approached the final pass, Arun would send me text messages to update me on the weather conditions as he was aware that this was something that we (my partner) were stressing about 🙂 This is customer service that goes ABOVE and BEYOND the norm. At the end of our trip – when our time with our guide had come to an end – we came across an unexpected issue at the check point where we were not able to pass without renewing our passport. Not thinking twice about it, we contacted Arun who ended up speaking with the officer in Nepali and sorted out the entire situation for us. Although we had to pay to renew our trekking permits, upon arriving back in Pokhara, Arun KINDLY apologized for the inconvenience and provided us a refund for the fees paid. This – in a lot of ways – is a testament to how awesome these guys were both in the office and during the trip to ensure we were having the best trip with the least problems arising. In more ways than I can count, when you are signing up for a trip through Freedom Adventures, you are not dealing with just a travel company. Even 6 months after our trek, Arun, Arjun, Abu and Jagan still enthusiastically answer our phone calls and help us find answers to any trip-related questions that we have. They are extremely knowledge about not only the trips that they sell, but Nepal in general. If you are in Nepal for the first time ESPECIALLY and you find yourself in Lakeside, do yourself a favour and walk into their office for even a chat. You’ll find yourself caught up in a conversation with Arun about muffins (and life in general) and Arjun about adventure travel and Jagan about all his CRAZY OVER THE TOP adventures. Couldn’t recommend Freedom Adventures more than I do – they have been and alway will be my go-to for all travel – especially adventure – in Nepal. Thanks for everything guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

The moment I began talking to Arun and Ajay, I noticed that they were not like the other agents. They presented different options that suits my budget for the trip to Chitwan, and gave good advises regarding a hike to the World Peace Pagoda. When I got sick after paragliding they provided me a bed so I could recover, and also rebooked my bus ticket so I could get to Chitwan the same day. Thank you Arun and Ajay for easing my stay in Pokhara!

Friendly Service, Familiar feeling, and Faithful Staff
by Hamish Corfield | Australia | 2016
I arrived in Pokhara with a friend and was told that Simrik Hotel and Freedom Adventures was the obvious choice for accomodation and organisation for outdoor adventures and activities. Arun and Ajay provide a fantastic customer facing company that provides exemplary service and compassionate company, even outside of their occupations. The passion and effort that all the staff put into their work, in order to create a welcoming and convenient service, is second-to-none. In particular all the staff involved with trekking organisation blew me away. Efficiency was paramount to the endeavour but without sacrificing ample explanation and reassurance of the necessary factors for an individual who had never Trekker in Nepal before, let alone at altitude. Perhaps the most refreshing aspect of the team at Simrik and Freedom adventures is the time they make for their patrons, I have shared many a overwhelmingly pleasant conversation with Arun, Ajay, Jagan, and many of the other staff. Honesty and transparency are also key factors in inspiring customer confidence. I would highly recommend these companies to anyone wishing to dip their toes in the vast expanse of trekking and adventures in the Himalaya as well as the wider Nepal area. Overall this company and its staff have impressed me deeply and have secured a lifetime of patronage from myself and others. Worth every cent and every second.

One of the most amazing places I have ever been!!
by Yonie | Australia | November 2008
I have recently returned from my second trip with Freedom Adventure Treks and already I am planning my third. The first time I travelled with Jagan and the Freedom Adventure Treks team it changed my perspective on what I could achieve and what the world really has to offer.\n\nThis time I saw even more of Nepal and got a greater insight into its culture, people and environment. Thanks to Freedom Adventure Treks I have seen the Living Goddess, gone white water rafting (something that I would have never done), gone on an elephant safari, saw twin baby elephants and one horned rhinos. I have walked further and longer than I ever thought I could and at my own pace (which involves frequent photo stops). I never felt like I had to walk faster. If I was too tired to carry my daypack someone would help out and I always had someone to chat with as I walked. Even though I felt like giving up at times it has always been worth it.\n\nI made it to Muktinath temple the first time and Annapurna Base Camp this time, one of the most amazing places I have ever been!! I have also participated in the Annapurna Clean-up Campaign and the Eagle’s Nest Environment Centre and I feel that I have really given something back to Nepal in return for the amazing experiences that I have had there. Looking through my photographs I can’t believe all of the things that Freedom Adventure Treks has shown me and all the things that they have helped me achieve.\n\nI highly recommend Freedom Adventure Treks if you want to experience and connect with the true Nepal in a way that helps it rather than destroys it.

Genuinely committed to environmental and cultural sustainability
by Gary | Australia | October 2008
My son, Ashley and I went to visit Nepal in October 2008.\n\nWe went trekking to the Everest region. The scenery was breathtaking and the mountains were magical. The culture was fascinating with the friendliest people we have ever met. We made it to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patar at 5500m altitude. This is the most memorable trekking we have ever done.\nIt was a physical challenge, but the Freedom Adventure crew made it easy for us and without their support and encouragement, we may not have achieved this great goal. We met lots of trekkers that were struggling and turning back along the way.\n\nWe met lots of porters carrying extremely heavy loads, some with bare feet. We also met a porter that had been left behind when he got sick on a trek. We helped him with some medication and food. The company provided us with a personal porter each, with each porter carrying approximately 15kgs. They stayed at the same guest houses and ate with us.\n\nJagan was our guide with Pemba and Naran as our porters; they were very friendly and happy to share information about their culture and country with us. It was a great experience, with a great team. We found Freedom Adventure Treks to be genuinely committed to environmental and cultural sustainability as well as worker’s rights.\n\nDuring our four week visit, Freedom Adventure Treks also organised other activities for us such as white water rafting, visiting Pokhara, Chitwan National Park and Kathmandu City sight seeing. This made it possible to make the most of our time available, but it was all at an easy and enjoyable pace.\nOne of our friends originally recommended us to Freedom Adventure Treks and we don’t hesitate to recommend Freedom Adventure Treks to anyone who wants to travel to Nepal.

We all received individual care
by Graham Arkinstall and group | Australia | April 2004
We had an amazing first time visit to Nepal. Seven of us went in April 2004. We took the 18 day Visions of Nepal with Annapurna panoramas trek, as recommended by Freedom Adventure leader, Mukti Timilsina. We didn’t know what to expect, but what a great adventure, white water rafting, elephant safari at Chitwan national park and a wonderful panorama trek through the Annapurna region. On our return to Kathmandu we experienced a Mount Everest flight and had a quick explore around the valley, which left us wanting more. Our sight seeing, rafting and jungle guides were all very knowledgeable and the trekking crew were the best. Our guide, porters, sherpas, cooks were all friendly and helpful in any way. We soon realised how terrific our team were, they not only took care of us, but also were always attracted other trekkers, in the way they did things and provided good traditional music and fun at any time. We found ourselves being questioned by other travellers: “How did you arrange this trip? Who is this company?” Everywhere good accommodation, good food, reliable transport, fabulous teamwork by our crew, they not only looked after each other, but they also had a great concern about the local people, and the environment.\n\nWe were a mixed group of different ages ranging 16 to 55, all with different needs and personalities, but we all received individual care. We came home with great memories beyond description, and already planning our next trip with Freedom Adventure.

No worries chicken curries!

Well Mukti, you weren’t our official guide but due to luck, we bumped into you when you were Amy and Thor’s guide. You saved us in so many ways from the incompetence of a certain well-known travel guide (LP). (Thankfully you showed us the safer routes) And when we were running out of money because like fools we forgot to bring our traveller’s cheques with us, we realised desperately needed a flight back from Jomson, you just said “take it easy mate! I’ll sort one out for you on credit – just pay at Pokhara! No worries chicken curries!” THANK YOU! You were not only so trustworthy and honest but quite hilarious! I’ll never forget you toilet story in Marble Arch!

An opportunity to actually be part of it
by Belinda | Australia | 2007
I think that Freedom Adventure Trek is unique in that provides an opportunity to not just see the beautiful scenery, the people and the culture, but to actually be part of it, which is truly a credit to you and your team. One of the things I enjoyed the most was often the music and singing in the evenings (and sometime in mornings!). Not only was it a great way to wind down, but it was also a great way to ‘break the ice’ so to speak with other tourists, porters and locals getting involved in the festivities. One of my favourite memories was a morning music and dance session in Kagbeni – we all later commented that was a great release after the stress of making it over the pass. It is moments like that turn a good trip into a fantastic trip, and I don’t think that you can get that with other trekking companies

Fantastic Company!! 10 Day Mardi Himal Trek plus Village Homestay
by Feng Chen | China | 2016
Highly recommend!!
From the beginning the Freedom Staff are very transparent with price, clear with the route and provide good details regarding day to day accommodation and hiking distant. The office is centrally located at Lakeside and had an open atmosphere. I had previously trekked with Intrepid to EBC and G Adventure for Annapurna Circuit, so I have a good idea of what to look for in a good trek. They quickly help me determined and organized a 10-day hiking trip plus homestay extension emphasis on less touristy trail. Their guides are top notch and knowledgeable about the mountain, culture and area. I will trek with Freedom again because they provided a personal touch by customized the itinerary to my physical ability and interest.

AMAZING TIME WITH AMAZING PEOPLE

I visited Nepal on october 2016. just before I finished the trip, i was advised by Ajay, one of the managers, to go to Mardi himal trek. It was excellent advise, since it was great trek. beutiful view, beutiful places, not too touristic and one guide Tika that took care for everything during the way. It was not too tough trek, with good view of the mountains there. It was organized very well, the hotels in the way. the food, the necessary equipment- slipping bag, sticks, water capsules, the rain coat- everything was organised beforehand by the team of Simrik hotel, MY home away from home.

We discovered Freedom Adventures accidentally when looking for a place to stay in Pokhara. We discovered the attached Hotel Simrik where the staff were warm, welcoming and kind. When we spoke to them about wanting to do some trekking they were nothing like the other agents we had met and instead of trying to sell us something and offering ‘bargain prices’ Ajay spent time talking to us through different options and what we wanted. We immediately felt safe and comfortable as they were so thorough and had thought of everything. What was even more impressive was that after booking at 11am we were able to leave the next day.We booked the 5 day Ghoripani/Poon Hill circuit. In the evening before the Trek we met our guide Nirmal. I feel that we couldn’t have been luckier, he was a truely fantastic guide. From the moment we met him he put us at ease and talked us through everything we needed, helping us to prepare. During the trek he was quickly able to identify our different strengths and weakness’s as well as learning about our interests. He had so much knowledge of the area he was able to teach us lots about the areas we were walking through. He was so supportive and kind and had considered so many details, such as the view we would have from our rooms, or lunch spots. He is really is an amazing guide i would recommend to anyone.Since returning from our Trek we decided to stay at Hotel Simrik for the rest our time in pokhara, as the team here are so friendly and helpful they have made it feel like home, I feel we have got to know them and they are such kind and friendly people- this (this the Freedom Adventures team). We have had chance to talk to different guides and they are so friendly and have helped us with all our stupid questions. Any of them would be great to go Trekking with im sure and I would recommend anyone who wants a great trekking experience book with these guys. I’m already planning my next one!Thank you so much to Nirmal and the whole team at Freedom adventures for making this trip so memorable!
