|Day 1||Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal (1325m/4347ft) - 45min, trek to Chisapani (2215m/7267ft) - 4hrs|
After an early morning breakfast, we drive to Sudarijal village located 25km northeast of Kathmandu. Sundarijal, bares various waterfalls, dense forests, natural carving made by rivers and a holy temple. From Sudarijal we start walking through the pine forest, home for 177 species of birds, which includes 9 threatened species and 129 species of mushroom. After 4 hours of walking through the forest we reach Chisapani village. Overnight in Chisapani.
Today we trek to Nagarkot takes around 7 hours, the trail passes through forest and villages and beautiful mountain sceneries. Nagarkot commands one of the broadest views of Himalaya in the Kathmandu valley. From Nagarkot we can see 8 himalayan ranges of Nepal out of 13, the ranges includes Annapurna range, Manaslu range, Langtang range with view of Kathmandu valley and Shivapuri national park. Overnight at Nagarkot.
After enjoying the sunrise view from Nagarkot we hike downhill to visit, Changu Narayan, considered to be the oldest temple of Nepal it is dedicated to lord Vishnu with rich embossed works. We continue along the scenic route through terraced paddy fields, forest and villages for 4 hours to the medieval town of Bhaktapur. The home made yoghurt of Bhaktapur is a must try. After lunch we wander in ancient Durbar square, after seeing the rich handcrafted designs, one will have respectful admiration for the skills of Nepali woodcrafters.
